The online shop of a brand selling a food supplement made from bitter apricot kernels. Orders, payments and stock are followed from one place.
What was there
The brand has been selling online since 2023 on an off-the-shelf platform. Years of add-ons made the pages slow and the basket started failing on phones.
Most sales come from Google, so keeping the page addresses intact mattered more than how the new site looks.
How I built it
Instead of stacking more add-ons, the rebuild is my own application: products, stock, orders, returns and the admin screens in one project.
At checkout the totals and quantities are recalculated on the server; nothing from the browser is trusted. Without that check a single negative quantity can drop an order to zero.
The panel separates roles and permissions, and records who changed what.
The order flow and every money calculation are covered by automated tests, so payment, refund and shipping scenarios run end to end before each release.
Live exceptions are collected so nothing fails silently, and jobs like abandoned baskets, low stock and shipment tracking run on a schedule.
What I did
- Products, categories, variants and stock; basket, card payment, orders and returns.
- The admin panel: orders, returns, coupons, discounts, gift cards, members, reports and content pages.
- Email side: order notifications, templates and retries for messages that fail to send.
- Roles and permissions, audit records and key management for outside access.
- Unit tests and end-to-end suites covering payment, returns, SEO and the scheduled jobs separately.
- Error tracking in production and redirects from old addresses to the new pages.
